Timing ☺️

Image
Are you a Believer ?  Tough Question, isnt it? I dont think when things are easily explainable by science, we dont wanna use the world ‘Belief’ alot. Because if something is true you need not believe in it. However we all must come across coincidences or luck that made feel awestruck. Sometime coincidence clubbed with some perfect timing is unexplainable for a rational mind. Definitely someone can argue it for a mind ‘Bias’ aka ‘Fallacy’.  Its like how do you explain the fact that driver of a two wheeler who managed to break enough when a crashing car miss hitting them by micro seconds. This happened in kochi last week. The video was astonishing. My story is simple, neither has a superman or crashing car. It is a story about sheer perfect timing. ‘Like trains being late on a day where you are already late and was going to miss the train anyway’ kind of luck. I was having a marathon 9-10 hours session at Calicut,Kerala for 4 days. Return train was there at 6:15PM to catch...

Going back to basics - World Environment Day

Image
Do you remember your World Environment Day celebration at school? Where we felt really bad for our mother earth and put posters for saving it from plastics. Wonderful innocent times, isn't it? But from there when the rat race of greed begins, we become selfish and sell out our planet without regret. Look at the mess industrialization created over the years.  Having said that countries like India cannot stop development until we improve the quality of life of citizens. But the developed ones can do so. They can start showing the way by reducing their carbon footprint on that. Even in India, southern states, and northeastern states can show how co-existing with our environment is important for our future. But don't you think we should start with what we learned at school? I was angry and shocked to see how irresponsible even the privileged when it comes to being responsible. I saw a young driving the car throwing his "LAYS" packet out of the car without a second thought...

Mental Health During Pandemic - My Thoughts

As our country is moving to a complete shutdown state by state in this second wave of the pandemic, where the mental health of people is as challenged as physical health. Anxiety, depression is becoming the new normal. In a country that does not have enough professionals to support the more worrying set of the population at this time, it is important to keep away the stigma and dedicate our time to our mental health. Here is a list of things suggested by experts as "A Work out for your mental health" during this challenging time to ensure you take care of your mental health and be normal. 1. Get a non-negotiable 7-8 Hours of Minimum sleep in your routine. As the gap between work and non-work hours is getting lowered as we move to WFH. It is important for us to find that hour of quality sleep. 2. Get a routine - This will be the most challenging part for many of us. As we break our routine to lock ourselves in our houses. Our body confuses us on our circadian rhythm. The most...

My Story when Modi’s Digital India failed me and Humanity saved me. -       Lijil Lakshman Disclaimer : My story has nothing to do with Modiji or politics. This title can be deceptive for a simple narrative. I don’t generally believe in good days and bad days, but that was a bad day turned to scary nightmare of my life. I am a freelance tutor, so driving car from Calicut to Kochi after 9 hours of session is generally not that easy. But after the session, all I wanted to do was to get back to home at Kochi. I right away started driving my New Honda city, who will turn as a villain in few minutes from here (Only if you choose to read this :P). It was fun driving until what I thought as Google’s one of the best innovative mobile application of the decade turned out to be useless when I need them the most. Yeh! I am talking about our own GOOGLE MAPS. To add to my so called “Bad Day” it started fetching wrong GPS signals and started showing my vehicle ...
